It was like falling in an abyss.
All efforts to come out were going in vain.
There was silence all around but no solitude.
Finally when I came out, it was as if i had the wings
of a bird freed from a cage.
I started flying in the noices around me,
but within me there was a stillness
and it taught me the nuances of silence.

... free from a cage.
There ends the poetry...
you need not write the last 3 lines
:-)
The nuances of silence was equally important that is where the learning started
:-)
for me the poetry is important. not your learning.
:-)
Cool..... just assume that the last three lines don't exist....you have all the rights to stop reading and even to put a full stop......!
That learning is just for me and no body else.
:-)
I liked the last three lines too, though I am not sure whether the stillness you find within you teaches you the nuances of silence. The poem brings out a restlessness deep within. Watch it closely, without wanting to change it. Once you understand the dynamics of its working, it will dissipate on its own and open you to new levels of silence and creativity. What we understand by the word is never the ultimate thing.

- i am feeling it. get going. sorry flying.
