The Same Rain

The early morning drizzling brought
a relief to the parching soul
after a few hot and humid days.
And so, I longed to see the downpour, the incessant one.
With a cup of tea in my hands, as I glanced through
the cover page of the newspaper, the news
read ‘the incessant rain continued to take a heavy toll in Southern parts of India’.
With a little discontentment, I kept staring at the droplets,
And I wondered if it was the same rain that was creating havoc in the other parts of my land.

nice :)
this is how you sit light with the gun on your lap and, when the game steps into the clearing, take aim and press the trigger!
boom!

it is the same rain

and it is not the rain which creates havoc

don't blame it as you want to show sympathy over your fellow beings...

ஸ்வரூப்: Neither am I blaming the rain nor am I sympathizing with anyone ...just the thought came to my mind and I wrote it.

:-) and the thought was sympathy and you express it by blaming rain...

It is. Just is. A force of nature. The qualifying adjectives that we attach appear superfluous, dont they?

K, How come I missed this? This is what poetry is all about. Simple thoughts, evocative images, simple lines and deep reflection. No pretensions, no circuses no showing-offs! Great! :)
